Portal To The Past

About Portal To The Past Collections

This collection is the story of how the sea imprints its life onto the earth. It is a physical record of the Himalayan mountain’s stone and clay being claimed by the ocean’s influence.

The entire body of work is built from wild clay, rock, and silt (The Sediment), giving it the raw, heavy texture of the mountain.

The Colors of Conflict

The pieces are defined by a visual tension between the two worlds:

* Ocean’s Life (Tide): The pink, vibrant green, and deep blue glazes represent the heart of the ocean—the corals, algae, and persistent light. These are the colors of life and fragile beauty that mark the surface.

* Mountain’s Body (Sediment): The dark brown and earthy tones of the raw clay and embedded materials represent the fixed mountain, river stones, and decaying logs. This is the heavy, stable foundation.
