Coral Cluster

About Coral Cluster Collections

The pieces are made from rough Himalayan wild clay and sand, representing the solid, dark mountain rock.

They are shaped like a cluster of coral or barnacles clinging tightly to the earth. The holes and porous surfaces show the persistent life of the sea.

The crusty white glaze is the salt and sediment left behind by the water. It pools in the crevices, showing where the ocean tide has settled permanently into the heavy, dark clay.

These pieces prove that the unmoving earth of the mountain is now the anchorage for the dynamic, surviving life of the sea.
