The Upland Catch

About The Upland Catch Collections

This piece is a standing monument to the sea’s long journey.

The tall structures are the upland—strong Himalayan clay that stands like mountain rock.

The driftwood and the tree branch attached to the clay are the “catch.” They are relics of water and forest, worn down and smoothed by the very flow of life.

The sculpture shows the fixed mountain earth actively holding the memory of the traveling wood, proving the high peaks are forever linked to the ocean tide and the forest floor.
