Colour Tone: Deep charcoal grey with blue undertones
Description: A volcanic dark grey inspired by cooled basalt rock and industrial mineral surfaces. Dense, dramatic, and atmospheric with subtle blue-black depth under transparent glaze.
Recommended Stain Percentage in Stoneware Clay:
- Soft smoky grey: 1–2%
- Balanced charcoal body: 3–5%
- Deep near-black intensity: 6–8%
Intensity Behaviour: Very strong tinting power. Even low percentages create visible tonal shifts in porcelain or white stoneware bodies.
Best Firing Range: 1000–1300°C
